Unmasking Stigma Fundraiser is Back!

Please look at your calendar, save the date and plan to attend “Unmasking Stigma: A Hope and Healing Benefit” scheduled for Saturday, November 4th at Townsite Towers.  The event will be held from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm and will feature National Keynote Speaker, Sergeant Kevin Briggs who is a retired California Highway Patrol Officer who spent many years patrolling the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Through his work there, he was able to encourage more than 200 people to not jump!  He is an expert in Crisis Management and Suicide Prevention and has been nicknamed the “Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge.”

Melissa Brunner, WIBW’s News Director will be the Event Emcee. The evening will include live music by Delta Haze, delicious food, a silent auction and our live Battle of the Masks auction. Curtis Sneden will be performing his unique brand of SMART magic.

To make the evening even more special we will be presenting the Hope Humanitarian Award to Commissioner Andrew Brown, KDADS and Mental Health Awareness Warrior Awards to Wes Cole, Chair of the Governor’s Behavioral Health Planning Council and Brian Cole, Director of Corrections for Shawnee County.
