Primary Care Services

Overview

Through a partnership with the Washburn University School of Nursing, the Primary Care at Valeo clinic opened on July 1, 2013. The goal of the clinic is to engage Valeo persons served in primary care services as a means of managing physical health needs versus emergency department utilization. Services are provided by an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), with referrals being made to specialty providers if needs exceed those that can be addressed within the clinic.

Philosophy

Access to primary care is essential for managing overall health and wellness. The Primary Care at Valeo clinic strives to decrease the fragmentation between behavioral health and primary care which is often associated with poor health, increased emergency room and hospital admissions and premature mortality.
