Responsibilities
The Workforce Development Specialist works within the Supported Employment Program of Valeo Behavioral Health Care. The Workforce Development Specialist has primary responsibility for providing support services for consumers involved in Supported Employment Services who have a severe and persistent mental illness or substance use disorders or co-occurring. The main function of this position is to assist the consumers to Choose, Obtain, and Maintain individualized employment in the community. The goal of the Supported Employment Program is to increase the number of consumers with severe and persistent mental illness and or substance use disorders obtain employment. This position is directly responsible to and supervised by the Manager of the Supported Employment Program.
Job Requirements
This position requires a BA/BS degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience. Prefer experience in human resources, employment and staffing services, and or staff training and development. Knowledge of public assistance systems, work with persons in poverty, or who experience psychiatric or other related disabilities is relevant. Sales experience or marketing is a plus. A valid Kansas driver’s license and access to reliable personal transportation and necessary insurance is required. Must be at least 18 years of age or older and be able to pass pre-employment background checks and SRS adult/child abuse registries. This position requires basic computer skills.
Salary Range:
$18.70 – $21.31
Hours:
8:00am – 5:00pm with some availability after working hours may be required
