Responsibilities

The essential function of this position is to engage with transition aged youth (i.e., those between 15 and 24 years of age) as a means of connecting them with medically necessary services and supports.  This position will provide direct clinical services to youth including crisis, assessment, and psychotherapy services.  The Transition Aged Youth Specialist will serve as a liaison between Valeo and community agencies serving children and youth.  This position will also be responsible for providing leadership to ensure the relevance of programs and services offered to youth.

Job Requirements

This position requires a Master’s in Psychology (LMLP or LCP), Counseling (LPC, LCPC), or Social Work (LMSW, LSCSW) and two (2) years of experience in the mental health field with experience assessing and diagnosing mental health disorders. Licensure at the clinical level of Social Work (LSCSW) preferred.  Must have current Kansas Behavioral Science Regulatory Board license and meet eligibility of Title XIX reimbursement and other third party insurances.  Experience working with youth with serious emotional disturbance, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders preferred. This position requires excellent communication (Verbally and written), interpersonal, and assessment skills; experience in mental health assessment; thorough knowledge of community resources and knowledge of basic computer skills.  The position requires flexibility, reliability, clinical competence, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and professionals within and outside the organization.  Experience with coordinating care preferred.  Must be able to pass pre-employment background checks, KDADS Adult/Child Abuse Registries, and drug screen.  Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.  Must be able to perform the day to day physical requirements of the position, including sitting for long periods of time, data entry into various computer software programs, movement and travel to various community agencies, and ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds.

Salary Range

$55,452 – $69,326 – $83,158
