Responsibilities
The primary function of the Crisis Co-Responder is to collaborate and work directly with Shawnee County Law Enforcement agencies. The program is designed to provide crisis mental health interventions in the community in conjunction with Law Enforcement personnel. The Co-Responder is an employee of Valeo BHC, but will have office space at the Law Enforcement Center. Assigned duties will occur primarily in the community.
Job Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field or a Master’s in a human Services field with licensing as a Psychologist (LMLP or LCP), Counseling (LPC, LCPC), or Social Work (LMSW, LSCSW, or LSW) is preferred. Experience with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and/or chemical dependency, and experience working with individuals who are homeless. In addition, the individual must be able to pass a criminal history check and KDADS Child and Adult Abuse Registry check. Must have reliable transportation with auto insurance required. This position requires knowledge of basic computer skills. Must be able to complete required WSU online trainings and program trainings. This position requires excellent organizational skills; the ability to be responsible and work independently; the ability to maintain flexibility and dependability in work schedule; positive interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to perform day-to-day physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to- 20% of scheduled time; data entry, answering the phone and computer work, 80% of scheduled time; ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently moving around the building and community, as well as repetitive moving, carrying and lifting as the job demands.
Salary Range
Bachelor $19.82 – $22.59 – $25.93
Master $23.08 – $28.85 – $34.62
Hours
P/T Saturday 10am – 11pm
And/Or
Sunday 10am – 11pm
