Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the day-to-day provision of treatment services and consumer care in the addiction treatment programs for those served by the ACT team. ACT is a treatment model based on the idea of a “hospital without walls”. ACT members receive treatment based in their homes and in the community as well as in the clinic. Overall responsibilities include: Completing assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, providing addiction and recovery centered education in both group and individual counseling settings with corresponding documentation; Communication by phone or e-mail with external agencies for consumer care purposes. Some evening and off-site counseling may be required. After-hours on-call responsibilities as scheduled on a rotating basis with other ACT Team members.

Job Requirements

This position requires at least one year of supervised experience in the field of Substance Abuse. This position requires a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) license, or a Temporary Licensed Addiction Counselor (TLAC) license and bachelor’s degree in a related field or to have been grandfathered in and be a Licensed Addiction Counselor. This position requires a minimum of four years free from abuse of alcohol and other drugs. Employees must have reliable personal transportation, a valid Kansas Driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance and the ability to pass a criminal background to provide services in the Shawnee County Jail. Physical requirements including efficient computer skills with 3-4 hours of daily data entry on the computer, and engaging consumers through activities including going for walks and consumer fun days as necessary are essential to complete the duties of this job. Willingness to complete further computer training to enhance ability to solve problems associated with the computer is required. Meet all requirements for the LAC as required by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.

Salary Range

$43,656 – $52,374 – $62,236

Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Some flexibility required)
