Kansas Partnership of Families
Services
Kansas Partnership of Families is an evidence-based psychiatric rehabilitation practice that aims to achieve the best possible outcome for consumers. The program consists of a family-consumer-professional partnership that combines clear, accurate information about mental illness with training in problem solving, communication, coping skills, and developing social networks for the whole family. Valeo was chosen with two other Kansas Community Mental Health Centers, South Central Mental Health in El Dorado, and High Plains in Hays to collaborate with The University of Kansas School of Social Welfare on training, consultation, and fidelity monitoring. Valeo's first KPF group was consumers and families experiencing Schizophrenia or related thought disorders.
